Distribution transformer Finned Painted Radiator is a component of a distribution transformer that helps to dissipate heat generated during the operation of the transformer. It consists of a series of fins that are attached to the outer surface of the transformer tank, which increases the surface area available for heat transfer.
The fins are designed to maximize the contact area with the surrounding air, allowing for efficient heat dissipation. The radiator is usually painted to provide protection against corrosion and to enhance its appearance.
The heat generated by the transformer is transferred to the radiator through conduction. As the hot oil inside the transformer tank comes into contact with the radiator fins, heat is transferred from the oil to the fins. The fins then transfer the heat to the surrounding air through convection, aided by the movement of air around the radiator.
